La obra “El Yuntero” de Manuel Serrano gana el certamen de pintura convocado, el pasado mes de noviembre, por la Cooperativa Jesús del Perdón con motivo de la celebración de su 60 aniversario, y al que se presentaron un total de 26 artistas locales.

Manuel Serrano es natural de Manzanares (Ciudad Real), licenciado en Derecho y Especialista Universitario en Ordenación del Territorio y Media Ambiente. Pintor autodidacta, Serrano mostró desde niño una gran pasión por el dibujo. Desde 2007 ha participado en diversas exposiciones individuales y colectivas, y publicado sus trabajos en varias revistas. Ejerce además como ilustrador y diseñador, y es fundador del colectivo artístico y de debate social Monstrua InterAnacional de Arte Oblicuo (MIAO) de Manzanares.

El jurado del concurso “Buscando al Yuntero” ha estado conformado por Ramón Alcarazo Peñuelas, Gerente de Bodegas Yuntero, Mª Teresa Galván Santaella, Responsable de Marketing de la bodega, y Javier Monreal Valverde, Director Creativo de Omnimusa Diseño y Comunicación. El jurado ha contado con el asesoramiento técnico del reconocido pintor manchego Fermín García Sevilla.

La obra de Manuel Serrano se incluirá en el diseño de la nueva etiqueta de los vinos de la marca Yuntero, creada ex profeso por un equipo profesional de diseñadores gráficos. Los vinos de la marca Yuntero se comercializan actualmente en una veintena de países por lo que la obra de Serrano se dará a conocer nacional e internacionalmente.

Technique and inspiration
La técnica empleada por Manuel Serrano para la obra “El Yuntero” ha sido tinta negra y lápiz sobre papel. “Me decanté por sintetizar al máximo con una obra realista realizada con los mínimos medios posibles. La idea era centrar toda la atención en el yuntero y su yunta de mulas, en una composición que diera juego a su desarrollo gráfico posterior como imagen de marca”, señala el autor.

Nieto y bisnieto de bodegueros, Serrano reconoce haber crecido entre viñas, olivos y cereales. “De alguna forma, este cuadro surge de la raíz, de los ancestros, de la esencia manchega de la vida en el campo”, afirma el pintor.
