Cospedal: “We have to make our agri-food products stand out by increasing exports”
The president of Castilla-La Mancha, María Dolores Cospedal, has assured that the priority of the regional government, of the Castilian La Mancha farmers and winegrowers is that “our wine is increasingly better and more valued”, because “we have magnificent wines” that “We have to make them count.”
In this sense, he has indicated that we have to increase the volume of exports and prices, defending the quality of our wines and all agri-food sectors.
Cospedal made these statements during his visit to the Jesús del Perdón Cooperative, in Manzanares, where he was able to see first-hand the winemaking process after harvesting the grapes. Previously, the regional president participated in the harvest tasks, along with a group of grape harvesters from Manzanares.
The president of the Castilian Executive of La Mancha recalled last year, Castilla-La Mancha was the largest exporting autonomous community in all of Spain with more than 45 percent of exports in the field of wine. "But we were exporters in quantity and not in qualitative terms, since exports did not represent more than 18 percent of the total wine exports of all of Spain, in economic terms."
Taking advantage of this visit I can try the new YUNTERO 2011 vintage wines, which will be released on the market soon.
