The expansion works, which are already underway and will come into operation for the 2014 harvest, will provide the La Mancha winery with a total wine storage capacity of 82 million liters.
The Jesús del Perdón-Bodegas Yuntero Cooperative is in the middle of the execution phase of the expansion works of its facilities. With a planned investment of six million euros, the works are aimed at improving all the winery's production processes and increasing its storage capacity for the upcoming 2014 harvest.
Currently, new unloading facilities are being built, both for white and red grapes. Both have the most advanced technology on the market: destemmers, roller grinders and pumps, as well as cameras and computer controls that allow grapes to be separated according to their qualities. With these new unloading bays, once the works are finished, Bodegas Yuntero will have a total of 6 unloading bays (2 for red grapes and another 4 for white grapes).
In addition, a new white grape jaraíz is being built, equipped with self-emptying and sludge deposits, as well as pneumatic presses with inert gas incorporation.
Significant increase in storage capacity
Among the works that are being carried out, those related to increasing the wine storage capacity stand out. With new stainless steel tanks with jackets and cooling coils -to achieve the best fermentation and state of conservation of the wine-, Bodegas Yuntero will be able to store up to 20 million liters of wine more. With these works, the total storage capacity of Bodegas Yuntero for the 2014 vintage will be 82 million liters of wine.
The works also contemplate the incorporation of new cold equipment to achieve controlled fermentation in all wines; decanter for cleaning musts; a new scale and automatic trailer cleaning system after unloading; as well as a treatment plant for the control and treatment of waste.
Bodegas Yuntero at FERCAM 2014
Today begins the 54th edition of the National Country Fair (FERCAM 2014) in Manzanares (Ciudad Real), the town where Bodegas Yuntero has its headquarters and facilities.
The winery, founded 60 years ago by the Jesús del Perdón Cooperative, will attend this annual event that, until July 6, will bring together 180 exhibitors from the main agricultural machinery and irrigation companies, as well as the livestock and agri-food sectors.
Bodegas Yuntero is one of the first companies that began to exhibit at FERCAM. In fact, it has a permanent installation at the show where year after year it gives visitors a taste of its wines, as well as participating in the different parallel activities that take place throughout the fair (tastings and competitions).
2014, a year of national and international recognition
So far this year, Bodegas Yuntero has been rewarded for the continuous effort for the quality of its products through important national and international awards. Some of them: the gold medal awarded to the 2008 Red Selection Reserve at the 2014 Concours Mondial de Bruxelles -a wine that also received a silver medal at the 2014 Bacchus Awards from the Spanish Tasters Union (UEC)-; two gold medals, awarded at the Berliner Wein Trophy 2014, to the organic wine Mundo de Yuntero Blanco and to the Epilogue Blanco 2013; the latter also received a silver medal at the twenty-eighth edition of the UEC Baco National Awards.
