Epilogo Tempranillo and Merlot Roble

Grape varieties used: 65% Tempranillo and 35% Merlot.

Harvest: second half of August.

Wine-making process: The two varieties contained in this wine were produced independently, from a selection of our best growing areas. Both wines had about a 10-day period of fermentation/ maceration, with a fermentation temperature of about 24º C. Both wines then underwent a short ageing of five months in barrel to then proceed to the final coupage. Mixed oak barrels composed of American and French oak have been used for the ageing in barrels.

Serving notes: Intense colour, cherry red, towards purplish with a garnet rim. The characteristical aromas of the varieties are mixed together, aroma of red forest berries, violets and fruit compote (currants, blackberry, cherry), also stressing the nice aromas that ageing in barrels provide, with coconut, vanilla, high roast and smoked notes that the wine stay in barrel provides. In the mouth the wine is tasty and well-structured and has some tannins that will be filed as this wine is kept for some time in the bottle. Very persistent and lengthy-ended.

Serving temperature: Between 14º and 15º C.
