Bodegas Yuntero has received seven medals –six silver and one gold– for its young, reserve, Crianza and organic wines in three different international competitions and one national: the “Berliner Wein Trophy” and “Mundus Vini” contests (both held in Germany). , the French "Vinalies Internationales" and the "Awards for the Quality of Bottled and Varietal Wines" of the Designation of Origin La Mancha.
Silver in Berliner Wein Trophy (Germany)
The 24th edition of the German Berliner Wein Trophy was held in Berlin from February 20-23. 7,590 samples from 34 countries were submitted. Only 30% of these wines received an award from the jury, made up of 400 professionals from the wine sector. Of the 172 silver medals awarded, one went to the Yuntero Reserva 2015 wine from Bodegas Yuntero.
The Berliner Wein Trophy is one of the most internationally recognized events in the wine sector due to its strict regulations, and for having the endorsement and sponsorship of the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV) and the International Union of Oenologists (UIOE).
Gold and Silver at Mundus Vini (Germany)
Bodegas Yuntero has also achieved recognition for the quality of its wines at the spring tasting of the Mundus Vini International Wine Grand Prix (Germany), the 26th edition organized by the German publisher Meininger Verlag, specialized in the wine sector. For six days (from February 18 to 23), a jury – made up of 268 international expert tasters – evaluated 7,500 samples from 45 countries.
Two wines from Bodegas Yuntero have been awarded in this contest: the organic Mundo de Yuntero Blanco 2019, with the Gold medal; and the red Epílogo Roble 2017, with silver.
Silver at Vinalies Internationales (France)
The Vinalies Internationales contest is sponsored by the International Wine Organization (OIV), the International Union of Oenologists and VINOFED, the World Federation of Major International Wine and Spirits Competitions VINOFED, so its medals represent great international recognition.
In this 26th edition, which was held in Paris between February 27 and March 3, a jury made up of 125 oenologists and professionals from the wine sector evaluated a total of 2,959 samples from 45 countries. The jury awarded a silver medal to the white wine Epilogo Sauvignon Blanc 2019 from Bodegas Yuntero.
Three silvers in the DO La Mancha Quality Awards
In addition to the gold and two silver medals from the German competitions, three other silver medals are added, awarded at the 33rd edition of the Contest for the Quality of Bottled Wines with La Mancha Denomination of Origin (DO La Mancha), held on March 5 in Alcázar de San Juan (Ciudad Real). 400 samples were submitted to the contest, only 98 reached the final tasting and 71 were finally awarded.
Among those awarded by the DO are three wines from Bodegas Yuntero: Yuntero Rosado 2019, the red Yuntero Crianza 2016 and the organic Mundo de Yuntero Blanco 2019.

Yuntero Reserva 2015, silver in the Berliner Wein Trophy (Germany)
Distinguished with the silver medal in the German Berliner Wein Trophy contest, it is a monovarietal wine –made 100% with Tempranillo grapes and selected from the oldest glass vineyards of the winery–. It is aged in mixed, American and French oak barrels for at least twelve months. All this gives it a great structure and aromatic complexity with notes of ripe fruit, vanilla and smoked. With great persistence on the palate, it is a round, soft and elegant wine, with very sweet tannins.
Epilogue Sauvignon Blanc 2019, silver at Vinalies Internationales (France)
This young white wine from Bodegas Yuntero, from the 2019 vintage, has received the silver medal at the French Vinalies Internationales contest. Last week he was also awarded a Gold medal at the Bacchus contest organized by the Spanish Union of Tasters (UEC).
It is made 100% with the Sauvignon Blanc variety. The grapes are harvested at night to preserve their freshness. Bright and pale greenish yellow in color, it is of great aromatic intensity and complexity. The floral and exotic aromas of the Sauvignon Blanc variety (grapefruit, mango, passion fruit) are very well integrated. On the palate, it is very fresh and with good volume, soft, delicate and with a long and persistent palate.
Epilogue Roble 2017, silver at Mundus Vini (Germany)
The red Epílogo Roble 2017 has won the silver medal in the German Mundus Vini competition. It is made with the Tempranillo and Merlot varieties. In it, the aromas of both varieties intermingle, red berries, violets and fruit compote (currant, blackberry, cherry), in addition to the notes provided by barrel aging (coconut, vanilla, roasted and smoked). On the palate it is tasty, well structured, persistent and with a long finish.
World of Yuntero Blanco 2019, gold in Mundus Vini and silver by DO La Mancha
The Mundo de Yuntero 2019 organic white wine has been twice awarded a gold medal at the German Mundus Vini contest and a silver medal at the Quality Awards for Bottled Wines with La Mancha Designation of Origin.
It is a coupage of the Verdejo and Sauvignon Blanc varieties. Pale and bright yellow, it has fruity and floral aromas. It is fresh, cheerful and delicate on the palate, with a long finish. It is made exclusively with selected grapes from the vineyards covered by the Bodegas Yuntero organic farming regulations, and has the certification seal for vegans granted by the European Vegetarian Union (EVU). The Jesús del Perdón-Bodegas Yuntero Cooperative has been specializing in the production of organic wine since 1992, being in that year a pioneer winery in Castilla-La Mancha in producing and marketing wine from organic farming.
Yuntero Crianza 2016, silver at the DO La Mancha Awards
Awarded the silver medal at the Prizes for the Quality of Bottled Wines with Designation of Origin La Mancha, the Yuntero Crianza 2016 wine from Bodegas Yuntero is made with the Tempranillo (85%) and Petit Verdot (15%) grape varieties. .
It has the Denomination of Origin La Mancha, it is cherry red in color with slight slate reflections. It is a wine that has been aged for six months in American oak barrels and another twelve in the bottle before going on the market. The barrel aging gives it toasted aromas and the combination of the Tempranillo grape with the Petit Verdot makes it a more tannic wine on the palate.
Yuntero Rosado 2019, silver at the DO LA MANCHA Awards
The DO La Mancha Regulatory Council has also awarded a silver medal to the young Yuntero Rosado from Bodegas Yuntero. Made from 100% Tempranillo grapes, it has an attractive and intense raspberry red color. On the palate it stands out for its balance and complexity, it has great structure and persistence, and it gives off aromas of strawberries and raspberries.
