The contest Airén around the world is an initiative of the Wine Connection forum that aims to promote the business areas of the wine sector and that has, among others, the collaboration of the Regulatory Council of the La Mancha Denomination of Origin, the Chamber of Commerce of Ciudad Real and the National Wine Fair (FENAVIN).
Bodegas Yuntero was awarded in the first call of this contest, which was held in May 2013 in Ciudad Real (Castilla-La Mancha), for the Lazarillo Airén 2012 wine. It obtained the highest score in the category of “best wine blended with other varieties”, receiving a Gold Medal for this.
Lazarillo Airén 2012 (Gold Medal)
It is made with the Airén (85%) and Macabeo (15%) varieties. For its production, the must is racked and fermented at a controlled temperature. This results in a pale yellow wine with greenish tones, clean and bright. Its aromas are fine and intense fruity, with floral hints. In the mouth, it is silky, very fresh and cheerful.
