Bodegas Yuntero in continuous growth

The Jesús del Perdón-Bodegas Yuntero Cooperative continues with its permanent commitment to two strategic axes, dimension and quality.

Dimension, to increase competitiveness through cost synergies, and greater positioning in the markets. In the last five years its activity has doubled, with a grape production of 95 million kilos, climbing to the second position of largest base Cooperatives in Spain, with more than 700 members and 7,100 hectares of its own vineyards, with a wide range of white varieties: Airén, Macabeo, Verdejo, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Moscatel of small grain; and in reds: Cencibel, Cabernet, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Syrah and Malvec.

Bodegas Yuntero was the first winery-cooperative to opt for organic vineyards in 1992, currently with a production of 17 million kilos of grapes, which represents 18% of its activity. The correlation of this growth is confirmed in the turnover, exceeding 35 million euros. This growth is also being achieved in bottled wines with an increase of 70% in recent years, with a presence in 30 countries, mainly in the European Union, and opening new markets in the United States and having a commercial office in Shanghai.

Quality in products and in all processes
In parallel to dimension, quality is another important pillar of Bodegas Yuntero, not only of the products, but also in the execution of all processes. Adequate results would not be achieved if we only focused on the size of the winery, putting it before quality.

For this reason, this cooperative winery is certified in the different ISO – BRC and IFS quality regulations, with its own Quality Department, which controls everything from the entry and selection of the grapes to the sale of the finished products.

Investments in facilities
The winery has been making significant investments in recent years that exceed 20 million euros, to adapt the facilities to growth and improve all processes with the highest quality.

Investments in 2015 reach 7 million euros, aimed at increasing the capacity of stainless steel tanks, with refrigeration installation, to achieve adequate fermentation and conservation, increasing the capacity for the production of red grapes with self-emptying tanks and the Ganymede system. integrated, different filtration machines, decanter, tangential, etc.; as well as the construction of a laboratory, tasting room and technical offices. An expansion of the current Treatment Plant is also being carried out, in accordance with current legislation.

Another of the important pillars to achieve the set objectives is the philosophy that the Governing Council has been able to give to the Company, with professional management, with the best Human Resources in each area and departments, highly qualified workers, with vocation, passion and responsibility in their jobs.

The winery sells a wide range of products and brands adapted to each market. Its main brand YUNTERO is presented in the versions: White, Rosé, Young Red, Crianza and Reserva; The bottling line is completed with the MUNDO DE YUNTERO ECOLOGICO brands (White, Tinto and Roble) and the EPILOGO brand of selected grapes and blends of varieties that are currently so successful.

QUALITY, ENVIRONMENTAL AND FOOD SAFETY POLICY

At Bodegas Yuntero we consider essential the development of a Quality, Environmental and Food Safety Management System, based on the Standards ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and in the BRC and IFS Food Safety Protocols, in order to certify the safe production of our wines, complying with the legal and regulatory requirements that are applicable in our wine production, aging, bottling and marketing activities, and with those established by the client, and other requirements that the organization subscribes, related to its environmental aspects and occupational health and safety hazards.

The Winery supports all staff in the maintenance and continuous improvement of the system, considering each worker as the protagonist of the most important phase of the service of a company of recognized Quality, also promoting responsibility towards the environment.

Bodegas Yuntero, through its Integrated Management System, allows patents, its concern and permanent commitment to Quality and the Environment and to achieve a guarantee for the future of our planet that only competitive, sustainable organizations at the forefront of the market can offer.

  • Arrange the delivery of our products in a way that causes the lowest possible environmental impact , always making sure that the products reach our customers in suitable packaging that complies with the applicable environmental regulations.
  • It considers environmental criteria a priority in decision-making, and studying at all times the best environmental technology available, thus modernizing our processes to increase their effectiveness in a reasonable period of time and where necessary.
