Yuntero launches a new white wine, Epilogue Viognier 2015

El nuevo vino Epílogo Viognier de Bodegas Yuntero ha sido elaborado y embotellado bajo la Denominación de Origen “La Mancha”, con las variedades de uvas Viognier (90%) y Moscatel de grano menudo (10%).

La uva Viognier es originaria de Condrieu (Ródano, Francia). Es una variedad poco extendida y escasa en el mercado. Las plagas, la dificultad de su cultivo y los problemas de producción que hubo durante el pasado siglo con motivo de los conflictos bélicos, casi provocaron su extinción. A mediados de los sesenta quedaban menos de ocho hectáreas de terreno con esta variedad. Recuperada, hoy se cultiva principalmente en Francia, Australia, California y Nueva Zelanda, y de ella se producen vinos blancos muy aromáticos.

La complejidad de su cultivo –es muy susceptible a las heladas primaverales y a las plagas–, sumado a una baja producción y a una maduración tardía, hacen que su precio sea elevado.

Epílogo Viognier 2015, un vino con gran estructura y persistencia
El blanco Epílogo Viognier es de color amarillo alimonado, muy brillante, con algún destello verdoso muy atractivo. En nariz, es un vino muy complejo, con aroma varietal con un tono floral y toques a mago y piña. Tiene un pequeño toque perfumado que lo hace especial debido al pequeño porcentaje de uva moscatel. En boca, resulta un vino muy voluminoso, glicérico, suave y denso, con un postgusto muy agradable. Es un vino con gran estructura y persistencia que invita a seguir bebiendo.

Es ideal para acompañar arroces, mariscos, algún embutido y pescados azules. Se recomienda una temperatura de servicio de entre 6 y 8º C.

Elaboration process
El nuevo vino de Bodegas Yuntero cuenta con una maceración prefermentativa de la uva en frio durante 8 horas, para extraer de manera selectiva los aromas localizados en el hollejo de la uva. Posteriormente, sin ningún tipo de prensado, se realiza un sangrado directo del mosto yema, que luego se limpia mediante desfangado estático a unos 7º C. Con ello, se obtiene un mosto prácticamente transparente. Este proceso puede llegar a durar hasta dos días, al tratarse de dos variedades tan complejas como Viognier y Moscatel. Finalmente, el mosto se fermenta a temperatura controlada (aproximadamente a 15º C) durante 20 días.

Bodegas Yuntero amplía la gama de la marca Epílogo

Con este vino, Bodegas Yuntero apuesta por ampliar la gama de vinos bajo la marca Epílogo, por ser caldos que han resultado de gran aceptación en el mercado nacional e internacional, hecho que ha quedado reflejado en los distintos premios y reconocimientos recibidos en concursos del sector vitivinícola.

De esta forma, ya son dos los vinos blancos que se elaboran bajo la marca Epílogo de Bodegas Yuntero: el recién estrenado Epílogo Viognier, y el Epílogo Blanco que se elabora con la uva Sauvignion Blanc (90%) y Moscatel (90%). Bajo la misma marca, la bodega también comercializa el tinto Epílogo Roble (65% Tempranillo y 35% Merlot).
