The Jesús del Perdón – Bodegas Yuntero cooperative from La Mancha will visit Canada on a trade mission

June 13, 2013

Yuntero wines continue their world tour to publicize the great quality that characterizes them.

The Jesús del Perdón-Bodegas Yuntero cooperative, one of the most consolidated in the La Mancha area, a region that with its 600,000 hectares is considered the largest vineyard in the world, will embark on a commercial trip to Canada at the end of July. The cities chosen to present the winery's wines are Toronto and Montreal. There, the commercial managers of Yuntero will have the opportunity to offer a tasting of their wines to an exclusive commission of prescribers of the Canadian wine sector.

"Canada is a highly coveted country when it comes to introducing new brands or wines, but it is also very complicated because it is a monopoly, which is why we consider actions of this type essential that allow us to establish contact with the main importers in the area," he declared. Elena García-Arroba Torrillas from the Export Department of Bodegas Yuntero.

For all this, Canada has been one of the countries included by the Jesús del Perdón Cooperative in its wine internationalization plan, with which they hope to position themselves in the medium term as the great reference for Manchego wines throughout the world.

Currently, the wines of this cooperative are already present in 18 countries in Europe, the Far East and Australia.

Marketing is the current great challenge for the coming years. The Cooperative has a wide range of bottled wines: Young, Crianza, Reserve and Organic under 4 Denominations (D.O. La Mancha Wines, Tierra de Castilla Wines, Organic Wines, Table Wines).

The currently registered brands form a wide range prepared for the different markets: Yuntero, Lazarillo, Casa de la Teja, Cesta de Frutas, Viña Altair, Mundo de Yuntero, Cultus, Ídolo and Epilogue.

The Cooperative was established on March 20, 1954, by 102 winegrowing members from the area, motivated by the difficulties they had to market their products, making investments to grind 6,000,000 kilos of grapes.

The current members of the Cooperative are 650, with an extension of their own vineyards of 3,600 Hectares, with productions of White wines (Airen, Macabeo, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Organic Airén) and Reds (Cencibel, Cabernet, Merlot, Syrah and Organic Cencibel ).
